The First Oriental Riff

Spread the love

.

In fact, my affair with this tune began in 1999 when I lived in Israel. It was the first Oriental melody I created, and I was very proud of it.

No many know that, but this music suffered from continuous oppression in the State of Israel.  Oriental music in the State of Israel belongs to the Greek or Arab style and has a specific audience that has consumed it all these years.

When I came to Canada in 2012, I was exposed to original musical materials like country (chicken pickin), bluegrass, blues, rock, white blues, famous bands, and English material in various styles, mostly blues and rock.

I am not ashamed to say that even I, who have hated Oriental music all my life, found myself at some point in Canada “miss” the special spice that exists in curling Oriental music.

In 2014 I started listening to Aris San’s songs, but it was hard for me to trace his unique guitar playing, as he plays fast and in a style that is only identified with him.

The song “Middle East” was recorded in 2019 in Canada, during one of the most difficult and stressful periods in my life.

This song published first in September 2019 via Soundcloud platform. The reactions were especially surprising and got a natural viral distribution without me having to market them myself.

I hope you like this song and this style.
